Thank you to everyone who has supported the Kambia Hospital Appeal in any way. Without your help we would be unable to improve the medical facilities for the people in Kambia.

Past events include
  • In 2007 Tom Andrews held a cake sale at St Gregory's Church.
      

  • In 2007 Will Talbot did a sponsored cycle ride.
      

  • In 2007 Leckhampton Football Club raised money for The Kambia Hospital Appeal.
     

  • In December 2006 a Christmas Shopping Emporium was held in aid of The Kambia Hospital Appeal.
     

  • We are very grateful that annual concerts have been organised for The Kambia Hospital Appeal at Pate's Grammar School, the latest one being in November 2006.
      

  • In 2006 Birdlip and Brimpsfield Womens Institute gave a donation to The Kambia Hospital Appeal.
      

  • In 2006 The Ryeworth Housegroup, Cheltenham raised money for The Kambia Hospital Appeal.

  • In April 2006 Philip Collie ran the London Marathon for The Kambia Hospital Appeal.
     

  • In 2006 The Sierra Leone Bristol Association gave a donation to The Kambia Hospital Appeal.
     

  • In July 2005 John Kloer organised a Golf Day and Dinner at Cotswold Hills Golf Club.
      

  • In July 2004 and 2005 Anne and Sean Elyan organised a Big Breakfast at their home in aid of the Appeal.
     

  • In June 2004 Caroline Gardner did a sponsored parachute jump in aid of the Appeal.
     

  • In November 2003 John Kloer organised a Dinner at Cotswold Hills Golf Club with guest speaker Tom Graveney and writer, Marcus Moore.
      

  • In December 2002, Mrs Von Speyr held a coffee morning in Cheltenham. A Christmas stall was manned on the Promenade in Cheltenham all day on a Saturday. In addition, Musica Vera performed Rachmaninov's Vespers in Russian at a concert in St Gregory's Church, Cheltenham, in aid of the Appeal.  
      

  • In October 2002 Mrs Lees held a coffee morning at Fairford.
      

  • Retired staff of Lloyds Bank in Cheltenham held a Strawberry tea at Emmanuel Church Hall in July 2002

  • Pupils at Christchurch School in Cheltenham raised money for Kambia Hospital Appeal during their Commonwealth Week in July 2002 by covering a map of Sierra Leone with pennies.

  • The Haematology Department at Cheltenham General Hospital raised a very generous sum of money for the Appeal.

  • John Horan running for the Kambia Hospital Appeal in the 2002 London MarathonIn June 2002 a very successful coffee morning/sale was held in Cheltenham.

  • John Horan ran 26 miles in the London Marathon on April 14th 2002. 
     

  • Amnesty International at Carnegie Mellon University, US, organised 2 concerts and an art auction called "Jam for Justice". Read their newsletter...
     

  • Kambia Hospital Appeal held a 'Turkey caption competiton'In December 2001 a Caption Competition was held, based on an amusing turkey photo with President Bush, the prize being a bottle of Turkey Whiskey. The winning entry was "When you promised me a bird called Monica for Christmas, this isn't what I had in mind."

     

  • In September 2001 a very enjoyable Cheese and Wine Party was held in Cheltenham, with a chamber group providing music. 
     

  • In February 2001 a very successful Nearly New sale was held in Cheltenham. The proceeds from this sale helped to pay for a large consignment of medical equipment and supplies to be despatched to Sierra Leone. (The shipping costs for this were about £3000.)
     

  • Two concerts for Kambia were held at Pate's Grammar School in 2000.
     

  • In June 2000 a coffee morning was held in Cheltenham.
     

  • In November 1999 a pre-Christmas fair was held in Prestbury. 
     

  • On August 7th 1999 an Open Garden afternoon was held in Cheltenham.
     

  • A Concert was held at St Peter’s Church in Leckhampton on July 8th 1999. This was organised by the Music Director, with St Peter’s Church Choir and guest soloists. 
     

  • Cheltenham’s Cotswold Nuffield Hospital donated an ophthalmic microscope for eye surgery.
     

  • Years 7, 8 and 11 at Cleeve School in Bishops Cleeve held a non-uniform day in December 1998.
     

  • Allied Dunbar provided a very generous grant to purchase three motor cycles and spares to help communication between the hospital and the villages.
