Kambia Benefit From Charity Golf Day

The Captain, Colin Gay, presenting one of the team prizes

We are indebted to the Directors and Captain of the Cotswold Hills Golf Club for allowing us to be part of the Captains Charity Day which was held on Friday, 13th July.

Despite adverse weather conditions, 120 golfers arrived for their Bacon Roll and coffee before teeing off, and enjoyed a 3 course meal and golf fellowship after their round.

The Charities to benefit were the Cobalt Unit. the Shoebox Appeal, Mencap and the Kambia Appeal. Kambia's share of the net proceeds was just short of £4,000 including over £1,000 received in the form of donations direct into our funds. The Net proceeds from the Golf Day exceeded £7,000.

The contribution from the Charity Golf Day will be used exclusively on the rebuilding of the dilapidated clinic at Barmoi in the Kambia district which will extend medical facilities to a wider community. Construction is at an advanced stage. The total cost will be £15,500.
