Jonnie Wake’s ascent of the Matterhorn

Jonnie Wake climbed to the 4,478 metre (14,692 ft) high summit of one of the highest peaks in the Alpine range, the Matterhorn, raising over £2,700 to help us improve maternal health in Kambia.

Adam Bagshaw’s Ironman France Challenge

Adam Bagshaw successfully completed the Ironman France competition in Nice, swimming 2.4 miles, cycling 112 miles and then running a marathon in 12 hours and 55 minutes, and raised over £7,000 in sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues for the Appeal.

Martin Smith’s Land’s End to John O’Groats Cycle Ride

In May and June 2008, Martin Smith cycled the length of the UK with three friends, raising over £16,000 to help us ship 50 ex Royal Mail bicycles to Kambia and enable us to buy a brand new Land Rover to run as a maternity bus.
