Whilst training of health staff and refurbishing PHUs makes a huge difference to the quality of health care in Sierra Leone, each PHU also needs basic equipment for the staff to perform their roles adequately. We have over the years provided a supply of delivery kits to each PHU – a set of equipment used at the PHU for deliveries. These kits comprise reusable items that can be sterilised after use, and this year we have included BP monitors. Each kit, including BP machine, costs £70.00.
During a recent visit, we took out a sample kit for review, here is a photo of Joseph Kalokoh (a Kambia Appeal CHO scholar) demonstrating the equipment and the BP machine.
