We met the Conteh family outside the children’s ward at the hospital in July 2012. Sherif, the head of the family, told us that he and his wife, Kadiatu, had just learned that they could now return home after the full recovery of their youngest daughter Fatu, who had been admitted with a high fever. They were delighted that Fatu was now well following a 4-day stay at the hospital.
