Sam is 17 and currently at Kolenten Secondary School. We met him as we were trying to check our emails at the new Kambia Resource Centre (built and funded by the Japanese agency JICA). It has the only internet facilty in town and is next to sports field and close to the district hospital. Sam was taking a break from learning about Excel spread sheets on a weekly computer course run by the local council. His school doesn’t have computers or provide IT lessons, so he’s taking extra classes to help his studies. He would like to go on to train to become an engineer. He knew all about The Kambia Appeal because his Dad is the store manager at the hospital and a member of the Kambia District Health Management Team.
